Past Speakers: Sam Rosen – Madison Square Garden NetworkRosen is a multiple Emmy Award winner who is synonymous with the New York Rangers as the team’s television voice since 1984. He was worked with partner John Davidson on MSG Network since 1986 and the two have become one of the best broadcasting tandems in all of sports. But Rosen is not just a “hockey guy.” The 31-year broadcasting veteran has hosted several magazine and pre-game shows, called boxing, tennis, professional and college basketball, soccer, Jets and Giants football, hockey and baseball. He began his career in 1970 as a statistician for the New York Knicks Radio Network and as a newsman for WNAB-AM in Bridgeport. A year later, he moved to television as the weekend sports anchor at New Haven’s WTNH. He gained national attention in 1980 when he joined then start-up ESPN as a play-by-play announcer. |
